American Magpie  (Pica hudsonia)



Juvenile magpies in the Slim Buttes. They hopped all over the nest but weren't too sure yet about flying. Their parents flew by
with treats, trying to get the kids to take the first big step. They hollered "mom? mom?" and dared each other.
